Este post es muy especial para mí, primero porque como muchos de ustedes saben este blog empezó siendo casi 100% de moda, pero la vida cambia y las etapas también 🤷🏻‍♀️! Por otro lado, tuve la oportunidad de contar con la colaboración de una de mis mejores amigas, Maya Padilla, ella es diseñadora de imagen, así que aprovechando su conocimiento acerca del tema, logré llegar a esta lista con las mejores tendencias de Otoño-Invierno 2018/2019 y los mejores tips de cómo llevarlas según nuestro tipo de cuerpo y estilo.

This post is a very special one for me, first because as many of you know this blog started being almost 100% about fashion, but life changes and so the stages we’re living in 🤷🏻‍♀️! On the other hand, I had the opportunity to work with the collaboration of one of my dearest and best friends, Maya Padilla, she’s an Image Consultant, so taking advantage of her knowledge about the subject, I managed to get this Fall/Winter 2018/2019 Trends list and the best tips on how to wear them according to our body type and style.

La guía definitiva para nosotras «las mortales» 😆

Les prometo que es la mejor guía para que nosotras «las mortales» nos sintamos a la moda esta temporada 💁🏻‍♀️, sin sacrificar nuestro estilo y sobre todo nuestra comodidad.

Antes de entrar de lleno en la lista de tendencias, es súper importante estar conscientes de nuestro tipo de cuerpo y así poder sacarnos el mayor provecho.

The ultimate guide for us «mortals» 😆

I promise this is the best guide for us “mortals” to feel fashionable this season 💁🏻‍♀️, without sacrificing our style and comfort. Before entering fully in the trend list, it’s super important for us to be aware of our body type and thus be able to get the most of it.

Las primeras 2 tendencias mencionadas serán literal los «colores neutros» de esta temporada, así que aprovechemos y juguemos con ellas!

TIP: Recuerden que para sentirnos cómodas y realmente nosotras, debemos seguir siempre las tendencias dentro de nuestro estilo, así será más fácil llevarlas.

The first two trends mentioned on the list are literally the new “neutral colors» of the season, so let’s take advantage of that and play mixing them.TIP: It’s important to apply the trends according to our style so we can feel truly comfortable as ourselves, this way it’ll be easier to wear them.

1. Animal Print

Es la tendencia más fácil de usar y la podemos aplicar a cualquier estilo 🐯. Es importante mencionar que no solo es el print de leopardo, son TODOS (zebra, serpiente, tigre, etc.); viene con todo y en todo, blusas, pantalones, faldas, abrigos, zapatos, bolsas, accesorios, etc.

Encuentren su estilo dentro de las siguientes imágenes y tomen ideas de lo que más les guste, recuerden que podemos jugar con las combinaciones de acuerdo a nuestros gustos, estilo de vida y cuerpo (muy importante ☝🏻).

This is the easiest trend to wear and can be easily applied to any style 🐯. It’s important to mention that is not only the leopard print but ALL animal prints (zebra, snake, tiger, etc.). Comes in everything, blouses, pants, skirts, coats, shoes, bags, accessories, etc. Find your style within the following images and take ideas of what you like best, remember that we can play with combinations according to our tastes, lifestyle and body type (very important ☝🏻).

2. Plaid

Uno de los prints que vemos año con año en esta temporada, es el plaid! Este año no es un print más, es un must y uno de los principales protagonistas. Al igual que el animal print es súper fácil de llevar y lo podemos usar como color neutro.

Es muy importante tomar en cuenta que entre más grande el diseño del plaid, más volumen genera (esto aplica en todos los tipos de prints ☝🏻).

Tip: Se pueden mezclar diferentes tipos de plaids (o prints) siempre y cuando tengan por lo menos un color en común.

One of the prints that we see year after year this season is the plaid! This year is not just a print, it’s a must and one of the main protagonists. Like the animal print, is super easy to wear and we can use it as a neutral color. Remember that the bigger the plaid design, the more volume it generates in the area (this applies to all types of prints). Tip: We can mix different types of plaids or prints as long as they have at least one color in common.

3. Bold prints

Definitivamente este año la tenemos muy fácil, todas tenemos algo en animal print o plaid en nuestros closet y estoy segura que uno que otro bold print también! Esta temporada cualquier print llamativo y audaz, será nuestro mejor amigo. Los podemos encontrar floreados, barrocos, estilo «Versace», etc.

En esta tendencia aplicamos las mismas reglas que en la de animal print y plaid.

This year we definitely have it very easy, we all have something in animal print or plaid in our closets and I’m sure there’s bold print too! This season any bold print will be our best friend, we can find them in florals, baroque, «Versace» style, etc. In this trend, we apply the same rules as in animal print and plaid.

Y después de mencionar los musts en prints, les dejo esta guía para saber llevarlos de acuerdo a nuestro tipo de cuerpo y el area dónde queramos generar o no volumen.

After mentioning the print trends, here is a guide on how to wear them according to our body type and the area or areas where we want to focus the sight (generating volume).

4. Total look: Camels

La tendencia está temporada es un look total en tonos camello o nudes y lo podemos llevar tan casual o tan formal como queramos.

Es muy importante tomar en cuenta que debemos encontrar el tono o tonos perfectos para nosotras, al igual que cuando compramos zapatos color nude y buscamos el tono que vaya mejor con nuestro color de piel.

No necesariamente tenemos que usar un solo tono en nuestro outfit, al combinar varios tonos creamos dimensión.

Tip: Podemos complementar este look usando lipsticks fuertes como rojos, vinos, naranjas y rosas, esto nos hará lucir más radiantes.

The trend this season is a total look in camel or nude tones and can be wear as casual or as formal as we want. Remember that we must find the perfect tone or tones for us, just like when we buy nude colored shoes and we look for the tone that best suits our skin color. We do not necessarily have to use a single color tone in our outfit when combining several color tones we create dimension. Tip: We can complement this look using bold lipstick colors such as reds, wines, oranges, and hot pinks, this will make us look more radiant.

5. Oversized Blazer

La tendencia del look varonil sigue y que mejor manera de llevarla que con un oversized blazer.

De todos los trends aquí mencionados este es el único que es un poco difícil de llevar, ya que genera volumen en automático. A las que tienen tipo de cuerpo rectangular, es a las que mejor se les ve, pero y nosotras las mortales? Tenemos que buscar opciones menos cuadradas o menos grandes y usar cintos para evitar un poco el volumen 😉.

The man’s look trend continues and what better way to wear it than with an oversized blazer. Of all the trends mentioned here, this is the only one that is a bit difficult to wear, because it adds volume instantly. Those who have a rectangular body type, are the ones that can wear it the best, but what about us «the mortals? We have to look for less squared, not too large, not too big options and use belts to reduce some of the volume 😉.

6. Puff sleeves

Nada más femenino que mangas con volumen. Los detalles en las mangas tienen varias temporadas vigentes, en este caso las puff sleeves vienen con todo y en todos tipos de tamaños.

Los puntos a considerar al usar esta tendencia: generan volumen en brazos y parte superior del cuerpo (busto), lo más recomendable es que sean el punto focal de nuestro outfit, por lo que lo ideal es no usar collares llamativos al mismo tiempo.

Nothing more feminine than sleeves with volume. The details on the sleeves have several seasons IN, but this season the puff sleeves come with everything and in all types of sizes. The facts to be considered in this trend: it adds volume in arms and upper body (bust), is best if is the focal visual of our outfit so the ideal is not to wear flashy necklaces at the same time.

7. Statement Coats

El indispensable de la temporada sin duda es el statement coat, no solo para mantenernos abrigadas sino que también es la mejor forma de expresar nuestro estilo sin tanta producción 😆.

Es importante perderle el miedo a usarlo en texturas, matices o colores llamativos, necesitamos verlo como si fuera un color neutro y de ahí partir.

Tip: Si somos caderonas lo ideal es usar el largo del abrigo arriba de la cadera o a la rodilla para evitar más volumen en el área. NUNCA al ras de la cadera ☝🏻

The season essential without a doubt is the statement coat, not only to keep us warm but it’s the best way to express our style without too much effort 😆. We have to start losing the fear of using it in textures or bold colors, we need to see it as if it were a neutral color and then work our outfit around it. Tip: If we have big hips the ideal is to use the length of the coat above the hip or to the knee to avoid more volume in the area. NEVER at the hip line ☝🏻

8. Western vibes

Una de las tendencias más fáciles de llevar para todas es agregar el western vibe a nuestros outfits.

Podemos ser súper atrevidas o súper clásicas con este trend, la mejor forma de incorporarlo es cambiando nuestros tennis blancos por unas cowboy boots blancas. Si no eres fan de las botas puedes recurrir al fringe en bolsas, chamarras, chalecos o cualquier pieza de ropa. Y para las más clásicas, los sombreros y cintos de doble hebilla no fallan.

Tip: Al usar botas es importante tomar en cuenta el largo de nuestra pierna, si es corta lo ideal es usar booties o botas no tan largas. Si es una pierna larga, entre más larga la bota mejor 😉.

One of the easiest trends for all to wear is western vibes, we can easily add them to our outfits. We can be super extravagant or super classic with this trend, the best way to incorporate it is by changing our white sneakers for white cowboy boots. If you are not a boots fan you can try the fringe style in bags, jackets, vests or any piece of clothing. And for a more classic look,  hats and double-buckle belts are our allies. Tip: When using boots the length of our leg is super important if it is short the best is to wear booties or not so long boots. If it’s a long leg, the longer the boots the better 😉.

9. Kitten heels

Me encanta este estilo de zapatos, creo que nos hace ver sofisticadas y elegantes. Los podemos encontrar en muchísimos estilos y precios y lo más importante es que los podemos agregar a cualquier estilo 🙌🏻.

I love this shoe style, I think it makes us look sophisticated and elegant. We can find them in so many styles and prices and the most important thing is that we can wear them to any outfit 🙌🏻.

 

10. Belt bags

Se acuerdan cuando nuestras mamás usaban este tipo de bolsa 😆? (sobre todo en viajes 🤣), no cabe duda que las modas siempre regresan.

Los puntos importantes a considerar en el uso del belt bag son: el espacio (normalmente cabe el celular y una cosita mas), siempre buscar una que vaya en proporción a nuestro tamaño; si no tenemos cintura, nos ayuda a crear un efecto visual de más cintura.

Para nosotras las Mary Poppins del mundo que cargamos hasta con el comal en la bolsa, puede no ser la bolsa más práctica, pero para las que no nos queremos quedar atrás siempre es bueno tener una, piensa en un date night o girls night out, igual y nos sirve para hacernos más prácticas 🙈.
Remember when our moms used this type of bag 😆? (especially on trips 🤣), there is no doubt that fashions always come back. What to consider when using a belt bag:  not so much space (usually the cell phone and one more thing),  we have to always look for the one that goes in proportion to our size; If we don’t have a noticeable waist, it will help us create a visual effect of it. For us the Mary Poppins of the world, that loved to carry everything in our purse, it may not be the most practical bag, but for those who do not want to be left behind it is always good to have one, think of a date night or girls night out.

Bonus – White boots the new white sneakers (you’re welcome 😉)

Literal si algo tenemos que tener esta temporada son unas botas blancas cómodas porque serán nuestros nuevos tennis blancos. Las podemos usar con TODO y para TODA ocasión.

If we need to have one thing for sure this season are comfortable white boots because they will be our new white sneakers. We can use them with EVERYTHING and for ALL occasions.

Creo que estamos más que listas para vernos súper a la moda y lindas esta temporada, sin perder nuestra esencia y estilo.
